
The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Yakubu Sanda has felicitated with Plateau State citizens and all Nigerians for the 62 Independence anniversary of the nation.
In a goodwill message personally issued by the speaker, he urged citizens to rededicate themselves to the virtues of equity, justice, tolerance and strive to give their best for the good of the Nation.
The full text of the goodwill message read,
“On behalf of myself, Principal Officers, Members and Staff of the Plateau State House of Assembly, join the Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, (KSGG), Chief Judge of Plateau State, Justice David Mann, Plateau State Traditional Council, all Peace loving people on the Plateau, Nigerians within and in the disposal to celebrate the 62nd Independence Anniversary of our great Nation Nigeria.
“As we celebrate our 62nd Anniversary of Nationhood, I encouraged citizens to rededicate themselves to the virtues of equity, justice tolerance and strive to give their best for the good of the Nation.
“The Independence Anniversary should be seen as a day of freedom which provides an opportunity to reflect on the country’s progress, celebrate its humble attainments and ponder over those dreams yet to be fulfilled.
“We may have our hiccups, as people of Plateau along the way and challenging times that might be stretching, our resolve and determination to forge ahead, but we should not relent nor succumb to fear, discouraging trials and threats of today.
“The journey of nationhood is a marathon, which requires patience resilience, tolerance and determination as peace loving people of Plateau and Nigerians, this time offers us a new opportunity to renew our drive towards attaining greater height and secure our shared dreams and common vision.
“As the Legislative Arm of Government we are resolve to promote and provide a conducive Legislative platform that will bring about policies and laws aimed at ensuring peaceful co-existence, security, unity and development of Plateau State.
“The Plateau State House of Assembly will continue to collaborate with the other Arms of Government, Traditional Institution and Stakeholders in upholding the legacies of the Nation’s founding Fathers and that of Plateau State in particular.
“As we celebrate let us aggregate the successes, challenges and lessons of the past as a state and apply them towards a more prosperous future for us and upcoming generations yet to come.
