Hon. Sunday Abdu has reacted to A group that goes by the name: “Plateau Northern Zone Youths Concerned Citizens of PDP Group”, who addressed him as a ” Distinguish Senator” and painted the social media all through on July 1, 2025.
In a statement issued to Daily News Breakers, Hon. Abdu described it as an honour and to the glory of God, but said is not yet time as only those who are elected and inaugurated in the National Assembly go by the appellation of “Distinguished Senator”.
He said, “Ordinarily, I would have not bothered to respond if it had my imprimatur and or fully involved in the advocacy.
“However, in order to set the records straight, a disclaimer has become apparent.
“I must say that I am honoured by the group to be considered for this distinguished position.
“Let it be stated, that only those who get elected and are inaugurated in the National Assembly that go by the appellation of “Distinguished Senator”.
“To think that members of the group have already started to address me with the title should beat the imagination of those who know.
“To be a “Distinguished Senator Sunday Akson Abdu” in 2027 on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party in the Plateau Northern Senatorial District, as the group is advocating will be an honour and to the glory of God.
“While believing in my “vision and leadership”, I feel honoured to be on the group’s radar. I am sure this is not the appointed time yet.”
It could be recalled that yesterday, Plateau Northern Zone Youths Concerned Citizens of PDP Group called on Hon. Sunday Abdu to contest the seat of the Senator Representing Northern Senatorial Zone District come 2027.
