
As Muslim faithful across Plateau State, Nigeria, and the world gather in celebration of Eid el-Kabir, the Speaker of the 10th Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dewan K. Gabriel, has extended his heartfelt felicitations and applauding the Muslim community for their steadfast devotion, spirit of sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to peace and unity.
He urged the Muslim ummah to emulate the lessons embedded in this holy festival by embracing tolerance, humility, generosity, and love for one another, which are critical to fostering social cohesion and mutual respect across all divides in the state and the country at large.
The Speaker stated, “This is a season that calls for sober reflection and a deeper commitment to the ideals of sacrifice, unity, and compassion. As Leaders and as citizens, we must draw strength from our shared values and continue to build Bridges of understanding, especially at a time when our dear State and nation seek healing, stability and progress.
Rt. Hon. Dewan K. Gabriel also used the occasion to commend the Muslim community on the Plateau for their contributions to the development and peace-building efforts within the state. He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the 10th Assembly under his leadership to inclusive governance, religious harmony, and the protection of every citizen’s right to worship freely and peacefully.
He called on all Plateau residents to continue to live in unity, shun divisive tendencies, and support government efforts at all levels aimed at promoting justice, equity, and sustainable development.
In his closing remarks, the Speaker prayed for the safety of all pilgrims on Hajj and for the Almighty Allah to accept their sacrifices, grant them journey mercies, and return them home enriched in spirit and strengthened in faith.
