
Residents of Kilema in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to take proactive steps to reconstruct kilema /Tudun Amba Bridge to ease movement of goods and services within the areas.
The residents made the appeal while speaking to Daily News Breakers Correspondent at the scene of a recent flood incident that collapsed the bridge linking Doma local government area and Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital
Our Correspondent observed that the heavy downpour which lasted for over 9 hours submerged Kilema/ Tudun Amba bridge making its difficult for motorist and pedestrians to pass.
Hundreds of commuters plying the bridge remained stranded for hours at the scene of the flood.
In an interview with some resident,, Prince Eze John and Rejoice Adam said they were stranded with no option, appealing government to come to their rescue as a matter of urgency.

They explained that this is not the first time the water submerged the bridge both in Kilema and Kofar Kaura, adding that there is need for Governor Sule to take proactive measure to rescue the two bridges from collapse.
A resident of Doma, Adam Alhassan Doma and a driver from Doma, Amadu Attah reiterated that the bridge needs government attention to protect lives and properties of people plying the bridge from Lafia to Doma for their day to day activities in the state.
Commenting, Comrade Haruna Abubakar and Bala Simon Alu said the flood has crippled business activities within the affected Areas, calling on relevant authorities to do the needful by constructing the Kilema Tudun Amba Bridge for hitch-free movement of people before, during and after the rainy season.
Chairman, Kilema Youth Development Association, Shehu Abbas said flood affected many houses within the river bank, appealing to relevant authorities to come to their aid.
