Jos School collapse: NECO relocates Candidates to Bishop College, NAPPS declared Tuesday as mourning, prayer day

The National Examinations Council (NECO) says it has concluded arrangements for the candidates writing NECO examination in the collapsed Saints Academy to continue the conduct of the ongoing SSCE Internal, 2024 Exams at Bishops College, opposite Saint Morumba college, Zaria Road, Jos.

Plateau State’s NECO Coordinator, Donald Adi, who disclosed this in a statement, said the Registrar, Management and entire Staff of the examinations council condole with the Government and good people of Plateau state, Parents of the victims of Saint Academy, the Proprietor and staff of Saints Academy over the unfortunate incident that befell the school.

He prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace and quick recovery of those undergoing treatment.

In the same vein, the National Association of Proprietors of Private School (NAPPS), Jos North chapter, has called on its members to close their schools on Tuesday, 16th July 2024 except for NECO candidates writing examination in honor of the victims.

Disclosing this in a statement, the Chapter Chairman, Alh. Abdullahi Salihu Malami after commiserating with parents of the victims, School Management and Government of Plateau State, urged NAPPS members to assemble on Tuesday at Jos North Area Directorate Office Hall by 10 am to pray for the victims.
