Members of the Plateau State House Assembly have screened and confirmed the appointments of Chairman and members of Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, PLASIEC.
The confirmation was made during Plenary on Friday at the Old Government House Rayfield, Jos.
The exercise started with the Chairman Mr. Plangji Chishak from Mangu South, with Barr. Pam Davou from Jos South Constituency as the commission Secretary.
Other members are Mrs. Theresa Kaze, Mrs Deborah Akanle, Mr. Waziri Kwande, Mr. Ado Adare, Mr. Audu Dorzhi, and Dr Longman Pensiwan.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan charged the appointees to be objective and discharge their duties with all sense of responsibility for the interest of the state.
Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Plangji Chishak stated that they will follow procedures, processes and be transparent in their conduct.
It could be recalled that the Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang had forwarded the names of the appointees to the Speaker, seeking the confirmation of officials of the State Electoral Commission by the Plateau State House of Assembly.
