
Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Deputy Gov.Acting of Nasarawa State has felicitated with the Muslim faithful as they observe 2024 Eid-el-Fitr marking the end of the Ramadan fast.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Gov. and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.
Akabe who is the Acting Gov., enjoined Muslim faithful in the state and country at large to continue to pray fervently for the recovery of the economy and prosperity of the country.
He implored the people to support the economic policy of President Bola Tinubu-led administration geared towards the restoration of the economy of the country to its former glory.
He also called on Muslim faithful to pray for leaders at all levels to enable them govern with the fear of God by epitomizing the virtues of justice, humility and service for the good of humanity.
He urged Muslims to remain steadfast in applying the virtues learned by sustaining supplication, piousness and exemplary communing with each other.
According to him, the people must continue to indulge in prayers for the peace, security and economic prosperity of Nasarawa State.
“Let me use the opportunity of this celebration to enjoin our Muslim Ummah to continue to pray fervently for the recovery of the economy and prosperity of our dear nation.
“As we celebrate this Sallah, I beseech you all to re-affirm your obedience to Allah’s injunctions as contained in the noble Qur’an and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).
“Let me also use this special occasion to call on our dear people to continue to accommodate each other’s beliefs and values in order to sustain peace, harmony, socio-cultural and economic prosperity.
“At this juncture, I assure our brothers from other regions of the country that Nasarawa State is a miniature Nigeria that accommodates everybody irrespective of tribe, region, religion or any other creed,” the deputy governor added.
He called on all and sundry to remain law abiding citizens and go on in pursuit of their lawful means of livelihood.
He also appealed to the good people of the state to remain vigilant in order to ensure a safer society for harmonious co-existence.
He therefore, called on road users to obey traffic regulations and urged officials of Federal Road Safety Commission and other security agencies to intensify enforcement of the laws during the festivity. (NAN).
