Killings: Forum wants full Implementation of Anti-land grabbing Law in Plateau

A group known as Forum of Former Youth Leaders (Veterans) in Plateau State has called on the Plateau State Government to synergize with the Federal Government to ensure full Implementation of the existing anti land grabbing Law in the state.

The forum made the call at a press conference over the recent attacks and killings of hundreds of local dwellers in Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and Mangu local government areas.

Chairman of the forum, Yakubu Itse read text of the press conference to Journalists in Jos, the Plateau State capital on Tuesday.

“We call on the Plateau government to synergize with Federal government  to seeing to the implementation of Plateau Anti Land Grabbing Law”

The forum said they have confidence that the security agencies will embark on a full scale investigation to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

They appealed that the outcome of such investigation should not end up in the archives like the previous ones, as they recalled other incidences that were being investigated by the security authority without positive outcome.

“The new government at the Federal, State and Local Government to call a spade a spade and to ensure that those culprits be identified and arrested and given the appropriate punishment.

“There should be display of high level of professionalism amongst our security agencies to produce the needed results in the series of attacks in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

“We call on the security agencies to investigate the earlier alleged call by the Fulanis to ensure that Nigeria become the world Headquarters of the Fulanis.” Parts of the statement read.

Also a member of the forum, Barrister Ado Ali Katyen lamented how the attackers succeeded in attacking over 20 Villages for over 48 hours without being repel by the security agencies.

“How can you imagine a situation where Three hundred (300) people killed for Fourth Eight (48) hours in Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and parts of Mangu that were under siege for 48 hours and then there were no security agencies to rescue these innocent people?

“This is a state of anarchy, that young children, women, harmless women and children would be murdered in cold blood like there are no security agencies around us? This is quite disturbing”. He lamented.
