The Chief Executive Officer of a private security agency, known as Tarmac Security Limited, Mr Inkotaria Ipalibo has urged the Federal Government to involve private security agencies in the fight against insecurity in the country.
Ipalibo gave the advice during the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Tarmac Security Limited, on Tuesday in Jos.
The security expert said that the fight against insecurity would be won if the synergy between private and government security agencies was strengthened.
He said that having different private security practitioners with different perspectives on board would go a long way in combating crime in Nigeria.

“Over the years, the regular security agencies have been utilizing the strategies they know but have not been getting the desired result.
“So, it is high time they extend the olive branch to the private sector, so that we can synergise and collaborate to get the desired results,” he said.
Beyond working synergy, Ipalibo also advocated for the use of technology in the fight against crime and criminality.
He said that available technological infrastructure like tracking devices among others would significantly help in tracking and arresting perpetrators of crime anywhere in the country.

He attributed the 20 years contribution of the security outfit towards improving security in the country to God’s grace as well as the confidence and patronage of clients.
In his remarks, the Police Commission in Plateau, Julius Okoro, acknowledged that “security is everyone’s business”.
Okoro who was represented by Superintendent Ayuba Inuwa, Divisional Police Officer, Rantiya Division, said that his doors were open for collaboration.
He expressed the command’s commitment to work with relevant stakeholders to tackle crime and criminality and promote peace and peaceful coexistence in Plateau.

On his part, Mr Edinen Usoro, Chairman, Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Zone H, commended Ipalibo for his resilience and commitment over the years.
According to Usoro, only people who know where they are going will attain the success of Tarmac and urged others to learn from him.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that highlights of the event included the presentation of awards to old and committed guards and clients that have patronised the outfit for over 10 years
