PDP Claims: Gov. Sule visit Wike to discuss Metro line project, not politics-Aide

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state on Public Affairs, Mr Peter Ahemba, has debunk claims by the opposition People’s Democratic Party PDP, in the state that the governor’s recent visit to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FTC) Barrister Nyesom Wike was to influence the ongoing Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

He stated that the governor’s visit was to discuss development and not politics.

The SSA gave the clarification at a press conference on Sunday in Lafia the state capital.

The governor’s aide was reacting to the allegation by Mr Francis Orogu, Nasarawa State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who on Saturday, Sept. 16 claimed that the visit was in connection to the ongoing dispute at the governorship elections petition tribunal.

Ahemba said contrary to the falsehood by the opposition party, the governor visited the minister to solicit further collaboration on the proposed metro line project from Apo in Abuja to Keffi Local Government Area of the state.

He further explained that the state government is also seeking the collaboration of FCT administration to build 13, 000 hectares Gurku/Kabusu Mega city that is only five kilometers away from Maitama.

The governor’s aide explained that the collaboration became imperative because about 49 per cent of those working in FCT live in Nasarawa State.

He added that the Gov. Sule-led administration would remain steadfast and shall resist being dragged into joining issues with the opposition because it considered that as distraction.

“It is on records that the state has witnessed development in the areas of security, infrastructure, industrialization, investment, human capital development, agriculture, health, education among others since assumption to office in 2019.

“The government decided to put the record straight for the sake of the unsuspecting members of the public, who might be misled by the serial false alarm,” he added.

Mr Ahemba also said that Nasarawa State is currently one of the peaceful and safest because of the measures put on ground by the governor.

He therefore called on members of the public to disregard the falsehood being paddled and promised that the governor would remain committed to improving and developing the state throughout his second tenure. (NAN).
