Nasarawa: APC Chairman pledges to reposition Party

Alh. Aliyu Bello, new Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has pledged to reposition the party to sustain its dominance in the state.

Bello emerged on Aug. 30, following the appointment of the former Chairman, John Mamman as a Commissioner by Gov. Abdullahi Sule.

The Chairman said that he was aware of the challenges facing APC in the state and assured the leaders and members that he would deploy his many years experience in politics to sustain the popularity of the party in state.

“I intend to follow the footsteps of my predecessors by ensuring team work and synergy among officials of the party at all levels,” he said.

He appealed to members to ensure complete loyalty and commitment to the party, as well as to the Gov. Abdullahi Sule led administration in the state.

“We are also going to embark on a strategic programme in the pursuit of our manifesto aimed at wooing back our members who left the party for various reasons.

“Our target Is to strengthen the APC and make it more formidable in Nasarawa State,” he added.

The APC Chairman also enjoined all political appointees in the government to key into the ideals of the party policies and programmes which have been designed to better the living conditions of all residents of state.

“As the ruling party in the state, we shall monitor the performances of all appointees In the government to ensure that they live up to standard and expectations,” the APC Chairman added.

Bello also said the party would soon set up machinery toward ensuring the victory of the party during the 2024 Local Council elections in the state.

He also appealed to the residents to be more patient with government in view of the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.

He assured that the palliative measures put in place by the government would go a long way to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal.

He also lauded the decision of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to ensure that the palliative is distributed at all the polling units of the state.

The Chairman who until his recent position was the Secretary of the party, also inaugurated Mr Yairus Dagusa as the new Secretary of APC in the state. (NAN).
