Plateau Speaker Mourns Death of Statistician of the Federation, Dr. Harry

Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Yakubu Yackson Sanda, had described the loss of Statistician General as a great loss to his immediate family, the Government and people of Plateau state especially Pengana Constituency and his friends and associates.

The speaker stated this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Sabastine Hommuk while mourning the death of the statistician of the Federation.

“Indeed, Plateau State has lost a gentleman whose track records of service and achievements within his short stay in office as the Statistician General speaks volume of his passion, commitment and honesty to the growth of the Agency.”

The Speaker noted that before his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, in August 2021, late Dr Simon Harry was among the pioneering Staff of the Agency who inspired and contributed to the transformation of the National Bureau for Statistics to become one of the global and foremost institution of high reputation, before he was appointed to head the Agency.

The Speaker, while urging the immediate family, staff, associates and the people of Plateau state to be consoled by his good works, called on them to keep alive his legacies of humility, wisdom and generosity.

Sanda encouraged the family to accept the loss as the will of God and pray for the Souls of the departed.

The deceased who was appointed by President, Muhammadu Buhari as the Statistician-General of the Federation in August last year died as a result of brief illness according to report.
