The Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has commended the Federal Government for its strategic interventions in healthcare, security, and sub-national revenue generation.

The Governor gave the commendation at the Government House in Bauchi during a courtesy visit by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele.

The high-level visit preceded the official commissioning of a new Medical Diagnostic Centre at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi.

The facility is one of 10 major health infrastructure projects being delivered across the country by the Federal Government through MedServe and the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

Governor Mohammed stated that the completion of the diagnostic centre underscores President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening nationwide healthcare delivery.

He emphasized that critical sectors like healthcare and education must remain shielded from partisan politics.

The Governor lauded the Federal Government for establishing two new military battalions to be stationed in the Alkaleri and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas.

He recalled the severe security challenges previously faced by the state and praised President Tinubu’s swift, non-partisan response to Bauchi’s appeal for intervention.

In his remarks, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, said the delegation was in Bauchi primarily to commence the commissioning of one of ten major health infrastructure projects completed by the Federal Government across Nigeria.

Professor Pate noted that the foundation for the Bauchi diagnostic centre was laid approximately two years ago, marking a massive expansion in the nation’s diagnostic capacity.

Also speaking, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele said the commissioning of the Bauchi diagnostic centre demonstrates how the Federal Government’s economic reforms can translate into tangible development outcomes.

Taiwo Oyedele said the reforms aimed at stabilising the macroeconomy, restoring investor confidence and strengthening institutions were intended to create an environment capable of supporting projects that directly benefit Nigerians.

He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his engagement with the Federal Government, particularly on issues relating to agriculture, security, healthcare and human capital development.
