Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) official lifting of the ban on general campaigns for the 2027 general elections on September 9, 2026, a coalition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched a massive mobilization drive for Senator Halliru Dauda Jika’s gubernatorial bid in Bauchi State.
At a press conference held on Friday in Bauchi, the Leader of the Coalition, Hon. Ahmed Yero, stated that the coalition plans to recruit 10,000 volunteers across the state to support Senator Jika’s campaign, which is scheduled to officially flag off in the coming weeks.
The coalition described Senator Jika as the most popular candidate in the race, stating that he is currently conducting rigorous, direct consultations with community elders, women, and youth groups across Bauchi State.
According to the coalition, Senator Jika’s governance blueprint focuses on rescuing the state and introducing purposeful leadership.
“His key commitments include improving security and boosting local businesses, Improving health and education systems, Implementing targeted support programs for youth, women, widows, and persons with special needs” The group said.
The group strongly urged residents of Bauchi State to reject monetary or material inducements during the election cycle.
They appealed to voters to shun vote-buying practices and instead choose leaders based on merits and long-term development.
The coalition also called on the mass media to provide fair coverage and amplify their governance message as electioneering activities intensify across the state.
