The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr Labaran Magaji, has urged Pro- Bola Tinubu and Sen. Ahmed Wadada, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate groups, to focus on grassroots mobilisation and issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.
Magaji, who is also the coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Nasarawa State, said that the APC-led administration has delivered tangible projects and good governance that give the party the moral authority to seek another mandate in 2027 to lead Nigeria again.
The SSG stated this while meeting with the Coalition of Pro-Tinubu, Wadada and Gov Abdullahi Sule political groups under the umbrella of the Renewed Hope Grassroots Agenda Movement in Lafia.
According to him, President Tinubu has put Nigeria on the pedestal of economic growth and stability through robust policies and programmes which translated into tangible projects across 36 states of the federation.
Speaking on the home front, Magaji said that Gov. Sule has equally raised the bar of good governance in Nasarawa State, completed several infrastructure developments, youth and women empowerment, and rallied support for his senatorial bid election.
Magaji said Gov Sule’s administration has recorded unprecedented, impactful and developmental projects due to his prudent and transparent management of the state’s resources and improved federal allocation arising from the removal of the fuel subsidy.
Speaking on security, Magaji applauded President Tinubu and Gov Sule for frontally tackling insecurity in the country and Nasarawa State, noting that the crime rate has drastically reduced in the state.
“Politics of attacking personalities, politics of undermining characters and campaigns of calumny are something that we must discourage. We have what it takes to engage in issue-based campaigns,” he cautioned.
Magaji announced that President Tinubu had again approved palliative distribution to all 147 wards in Nasarawa State to support vulnerable people.
Speaking earlier, Mr Ahmed Mohamed, Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Grassroots Agenda Movement, said they came to seek stronger collaboration with the Office of the SSG and Renewed Hope Ambassadors for the re-election of the President, Sen. Wadada as governor and all APC candidates.
He outlined a five-point agenda for the coalition, including grassroots mobilisation, unified communication, stakeholder engagement, data and feedback and lawful campaign within the ambit of the electoral law to be their focus.
Also speaking, Mr Isaac Kigbu, Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Nasarawa State, declared the farming community’s total alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Kigbu noted that improved rural road networks have significantly eased the transportation of agricultural produce to markets, while improved security conditions have allowed farmers to return safely to their farms.
He urged farmers across the state’s 147 wards to register, obtain their voting credentials, and back the administration to ensure sustained agricultural growth and peace beyond 2027. (NAN)
