The newly appointed Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Nawani Aboki, has promised to run an open, performance-driven ministry to enhance service delivery.

Aboki made the pledge
at the handover ceremony held at the Ministry on Monday in Lafia.

He commended the outgoing supervising commissioner, Mohammed Agah Muluku and his predecessor, Dr Tanko Ibrahim, for keeping the ministry stable during the transition period.

“The former Commissioner who had gone had worked well, and I appreciated the effort he had made in the ministry. We will improve where we need to improve upon, to make the ministry a better place,” he said.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the Deputy Gov. Dr Emmanuel Akabe for the opportunity to serve in the State Executive Council.

Aboki urged the ministry’s staff to remain dedicated, emphasising that productivity would be the sole benchmark of his leadership.

”If you are ready to do the work, you and I will be the best of friends. I don’t carry religion on my face, I don’t carry tribe on my face; I only carry work on my face,” Aboki stated.

Mohammed Agah Muluku described Dr Aboki’s appointment as a strategic placement of a seasoned media veteran whose experience would drive significant progress in the ministry.

He commended the staff for their support during his brief tenure and assured the ministry of continued inter-ministerial cooperation.

Also speaking, Hajiya Hadiza Dahiru, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, expressed appreciation to outgoing supervising commissioner Agah Muluku for his effective stewardship during the transition period.

She assured the new Commissioner, Dr Nawani Aboki, of the maximum cooperation and unalloyed support of the management and staff to enable him to succeed in his new role. (NAN)
