The Chairman of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Mr Jonathan Addra, has empowered youths and women’s groups with motorcycles, wrappers, cash and toiletries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addra, while performing the distribution in Doma LGA, stated that the empowerment initiative aimed to strengthen mobility for the 2027 general elections.
He noted that the cash grants of N50,000 each to 20 women across the 10 electoral wards of the LGA were aimed at improving livelihoods, reducing poverty and promoting self-reliance among youths, women and vulnerable groups.
He described support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and Sen. Wadada’s governorship bid as a collective decision by the people of Doma who believe in their capacity to deliver purposeful leadership.
“More people-oriented programs will be rolled out under this administration to ensure the dividends of democracy reach every household in Doma,” Addra said.
Josephine Addra, the wife of the Doma Council, also distributed Renewed Hope sanitary pads to teenage girls and 100 yards of wrappers to women courtesy of the office of the Nigeria First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.
According to her, Doma women are ready to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election, Sen. Wadada’s governorship aspiration and every other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
Speaking at the event, Dr Aliyu Bello, Nasarawa State APC Chairman, commended the Doma LGA Chairman for the empowerment drive and urged beneficiaries to work toward the success of the party.
“This is the time for empowering the people and unveiling a blueprint, not time for rallies and insults; we are the ruling party. 80 per cent of the people here are indigenes, and they are the real voters in the LGA”, Bello said.
He described women as the
majority voting bloc in Doma and called on them to work hard for APC’s victory, noting that the current administration is women-friendly.
“Let us work hard to re-elect President Tinubu, vote for Wadada as governor, vote Hassan Nalaraba as Senator for Nasarawa South, vote the two members of the State House of Assembly from Doma,” he appealed.
Also speaking, Sen. Ahmed Wadada, while commending the Doma Council Boss for the empowerment, called on members of the party to remain united and work toward delivering 90,000 votes for Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Wadada, represented by Dr Mustapha Galadima, urged beneficiaries of the motorcycles and other empowerment items to use them for the purpose for which they were given, stating that proper electioneering would commence in a few weeks.
“Out of our 140,000 registered voters in Doma, we will appreciate it if we can deliver 90,000 votes. That will translate to about 90,000 votes for Tinubu, APC governorship candidates and all other APC candidates,” Wadada said.
The Doma LGA empowerment programme is part of APC’s early grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, focusing on capacity building and logistics for party members to reach all parts of the LGA. (NAN)
