Democracy Day 2026: Governor Mohammed felicitate with Citizens, Highlights Key Strides in Bauchi

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has extended his warm felicitations to the citizens of Bauchi State and Nigerians across the country as the nation marks the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor.

Governor Mohammed described Democracy Day as a historic milestone, pointing out that that the day symbolizes the triumph of the collective will of the Nigerian people, the preservation of democratic governance, and a continuous journey toward justice, accountability, and national development.

The Governor emphasized that the annual occasion offers a vital window for reflection on the progress of the nation, while honoring the deep sacrifices made by patriotic Nigerians who fought tirelessly to institutionalize democratic values.

Highlighting the journey of his own administration, the Governor reiterated his unwavering commitment to distributing the dividends of democracy.

He maintained that his administration remains focused on people-oriented policies that drive visible development across the state’s economy.

Reviewing his administration’s stewardship, Governor Mohammed listed massive interventions across several critical sectors, including Infrastructure & Rural Transformation, Extensive road construction and rehabilitation initiatives linking urban and rural communities, Upgrading healthcare facilities to widen access to quality medical services for vulnerable groups.

Others according to the Governor include the boosting of the education sector through the widespread renovation and construction of schools, Launching targeted support programs to empower local farmers, enhancing agricultural productivity, and boost regional food security.

The Governor added that strategic investments in water resources, public housing, environmental sustainability, and youth and women empowerment have successfully elevated living conditions while fostering opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

Addressing national security concerns, governor Mohammed assured residents that safeguarding lives and property remains a top priority.

He stated that the state government is consistently collaborating with security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to enhance intelligence gathering, bolster tactical operations, and prevent criminal activities.

He further urged citizens to stay vigilant and supportive of security personnel by providing timely, credible information to aid crime-fighting efforts.

“As we celebrate Democracy Day, I call on all citizens to renew their faith in the democratic process, uphold the values of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, and join hands with government in our collective pursuit of a more prosperous, secure, and united Bauchi State and Nigeria,” The Governor said.

Closing his message, Governor Mohammed expressed deep appreciation to the people of Bauchi State for their continued support, prayers, and cooperation, promising to maintain a rigorous focus on good governance and citizen welfare.

He wished all Nigerians a peaceful, memorable, and rewarding celebration.
