No fewer than 45 youths from Pankshin North Constituency in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State are set to graduate from a one-year vocational skills acquisition programme under the Positive Impact Agenda initiative.
The graduation ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, marks the completion of intensive training for the beneficiaries in various trades aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic empowerment.
Announcing the development in a statement, the sponsor of the programme, Rt. Hon. Dewan Gabriel, expressed delight over the successful completion of training by the beneficiaries, noting that the initiative is focused on transforming youths from job seekers into entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
According to him, empowering young people with practical skills remains one of the most effective ways to tackle unemployment, reduce poverty, and restore hope, especially amid prevailing economic challenges facing many families.
He stated that the programme goes beyond skills training, emphasizing that its broader objective is to nurture community builders and productive citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society.

Dewan described the transition of beneficiaries into self-reliant individuals and potential business owners as a major source of fulfillment, adding that the initiative reflects his commitment to human capital development and grassroots empowerment.
The lawmaker further assured residents of Pankshin North that more opportunities would be created through the second phase of the Positive Impact Agenda, which seeks to expand youth empowerment programmes and deepen community development efforts across the constituency.
He reiterated his commitment to sustaining people-oriented projects that will improve livelihoods and create a brighter future for the people of Pankshin North.
The participants received training in vocational skills such as tiling, Plaster of Paris (POP) installation, welding, tailoring, hairdressing, and other practical trades designed to equip them with sustainable means of livelihood.
