Dr Fatimah Abdullahi, an aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Nasarawa State, has accepted the outcome of the exercise,

She also pledged support for Sen. Ahmed Wadada, the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

Abdullahi made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lafia, following the conclusion of the APC primaries.

She thanked her supporters, party faithful and residents of the state for their commitment and sacrifices throughout her campaign.

“I want to thank each and every one of you for the trust, energy and sacrifice you invested in our campaign during the just concluded APC primaries.

“Your commitment reminded me that our struggle is not about one person, but about building a stronger and more inclusive Nasarawa State where every voice matters,” she said.

The aspirant said that although politics remained a contest of ideas, there was need for unity after the exercise in the interest of the party and the state.

She congratulated Wadada on his emergence and called on her supporters and coordinators across the state to rally round the APC candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“I fully accept the outcome of the primaries. I congratulate Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada on his emergence as the APC candidate.

“I am therefore calling on all my supporters, coordinators and well-wishers across the state to rally round Senator Wadada and work collectively to ensure victory for our party in the 2027 general elections,” she said.

Abdullahi also used the opportunity to advocate greater inclusion of women in politics and decision-making processes.

According to her, women have remained underrepresented in governance despite their contributions to societal development.

She encouraged women in the state to participate actively in politics by registering, organising, contesting elections and taking up leadership roles.

“Your perspective is not an add-on; it is essential to building a state that works for all of us,” she said.

Abdullahi reaffirmed her commitment to the APC and pledged to continue supporting the party at all levels.

She said that the overall progress and development of Nasarawa State remained more important than individual political ambition. (NAN)
