Chief Moses Nwan, the Executive Private Secretary to the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has donated 105 textbooks to the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, in a gesture aimed at strengthening academic research and supporting student learning.
Dr. Nwan, a doctoral graduate of the university, made the donation to the Department of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the institution’s headquarters in Abuja. The contribution comes shortly after his graduation and reflects his commitment to giving back to the institution that helped shape his academic journey.
The donated books span key areas including security studies, peace studies, conflict resolution, and the humanities. They are intended to enhance research, enrich the institution’s library resources, and encourage students to pursue academic excellence.
Widely regarded for his commitment to human capital development, Dr. Nwan has consistently invested in youth empowerment through scholarships, mentorship programmes, skills acquisition initiatives, and educational sponsorships. His efforts have created opportunities for the less privileged and enabled many young Nigerians to build capacity and contribute meaningfully to society.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Nwan noted that the donation forms part of his broader commitment to advancing intellectual development and research across institutions he has attended. He emphasized the importance of education in shaping responsible leadership and fostering sustainable national development.
Dr. Nwan expressed deep gratitude to His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for supporting him during the concluding phase of his studies. He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him for his humane, loving, and pragmatic leadership.
