216 Bag First-Class As Sa’adu Zungur University Holds 8th, 9th and 10th Combined Convocation

No fewer than 216 graduands, bagged First Class honours of the Sa’adu Zungur University at its 8th, 9th and 10th convocation ceremony slated for the 28th March 2026.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Fatimah Tahir stated this during a pre-convocation press conference held at the Main Campus Gadau of the university on Friday.

She stated that the University would be graduating a total of 12, 256 students to include, 11,813 undergraduates, and 443 Post Graduate.

According to her, 216 students bagged 1st Class, 3,438 bagged 2nd Class Upper, 5,563 bagged 2nd Class Lower, 2,353 bagged 3rd Class while 243 had pass degree.

She said that at the post graduate level, there are 443 graduands with 4 (0.9%) earning distinction, 9 (2.03%) merit, 42 (9.48%) credit and 388 (87.58%) pass, adding that out of the number, 25 (5.64%) are PhDs, 145 (32.73%) Academic Masters, 241 (54.40%) Professional Masters and 32 (7.22%) Postgraduate Diplomas.

“Today, I am pleased to inform you that the University is set to hold its 8th, 9th and 10th Combined Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place from Friday 27th to Saturday 28th March, 2026, here at the Main Campus, Gadau”.

“Immediately after this press conference today, the first major activity will be the Convocation Lecture. The lecture will be delivered by Emeritus Professor Abubakar Saní Sambo, OON, NPOM, HLF, former Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU Bauchi, on the topic:”Education, Security and Sustainable Development: The Role of Universities in Northern Nigeria.”

“The lecture is scheduled to take place today at 4:00pm at the 500-Seater Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, Gadau.The occasion will be chaired by Arc. Abdu Sule Katagum (Wazirin Katagum) former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State”.

“The grand finale of the activities will be the Convocation Ceremony, which will take place tomorrow Saturday, 28th March, 2026, at the University Stadium, Main Campus, Gadau. During the ceremony, degrees will be formally conferred on the graduands who have successfully completed their academic programmes and have been found worthy in character and learning by this great institution”.

“Distinguished members of the press, the convocation ceremony represents a very important milestone for our graduands, their families, and indeed the University community. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our graduates and reaffirm our commitment to academic excellence and societal developments”. She said
