Eid-el-Fitr: Aren Eggon, Council chair urge sustained prayers for nation

The Paramount Ruler in Nasarawa State, Justice Ahmed Ubangari-Alaku (Rtd), Aren Eggon, has urged Nigerians to sustain prayers for the peace and unity of the Nation.

Ubangari – Alaku gave the charge while addressing his subject during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in his Palace in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

He harped on peaceful coexistence irrespective of religion and ethnic differences to foster unity thereby attracting development to the state and the country in general.

Aren Eggon, while congratulating Muslims faithful for the successful completion of Ramadan, enjoined them to exhibit the lesson learnt during the period.

Also speaking, Barrister Iliya Ibn Aliyu, Chairman, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government, while congratulating Muslim faithful, calls for sober reflection on the lessons learn during the period.

He called on people of the state to sustain support for the leadership of the state on peace building to attract more development to the state.

“The kind of patience we endure, the kind of avoidance of going into crisis and chaos among ourselves, the discipline of being tolerant, all these lessons that we all learned from Ramadan, we are expected to carry them along for the rest of our lives.

“Because by so doing, it will foster unity between Muslims and Christians, and those other faiths in the state and the country in general,” he said.

On her part, Dr Esther Alu, All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, North Central, while paying Sallah homage to Aren Eggon and the Council Chairman, congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of Ramadan.

She urged citizens to be law-abiding, obey constituted authority, and support the government’s developmental efforts.

Earlier in his sermon, after leading the two -unit prayer to mark this year’s Eid-el-fitr, Sheikh Jibrin Danladi, Chief Imam of Nasarawa Eggon Central Mosque, emphasised the need to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan for the development of the state and the country. (NAN)
