Former Environment Minister, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, has charged citizens of Nigeria to fervently pray for the restoration of security, peace, and love for one another.

In a goodwill message to mark the 2026 Eid El Fitr Celebration in his country home Uke in Karshi Development Area, Karu Local Government Council, Nasarawa State, on Friday, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi said the country is significantly at a security crossroads.

The frontline governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress in Nasarawa State further prayed that God, in His infinite mercy, bestows upon citizens of the country security, peace, and unity for development and prosperity.

According to him, “It is essential for all of us, especially Muslims who just ended their fast and Christians still observing Lent, to utilize this period to engage in prayer for God’s divine interventions.”

He commended the Nigerian security forces for their relentless efforts but stressed that they are overstretched due to the heightened rate of banditry, kidnapping, killings, and other crimes.

“You can attest to this that our brothers are behind kidnapping, but my prayer is that Nigeria should succeed, which we are on course. So, it is my utmost prayer that as we approach the election period, we shall experience peace,” he added.

Also, the Yakanaje of Uke kingdom, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Hassan Abdullahi, in his charge to the people of Uke, admonished them to be tolerant, law-abiding, and hospitable to settlers.

He pointed out that the community is fast becoming an industrial hub in the state, and only peaceful coexistence can propel prosperity with the rich natural endowment found in the area.

“Therefore, as we continue to witness development and prosperity, we must also respect one another, as well as tolerate one another, so that those coming to do business or reside here can add value to us,” the monarch said.
