The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Bauchi State, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), has flagged off the distribution of 10 trucks of free fertilizer to party members across the state to boost food production for the 2026 farming season.
The flag-off ceremony took place at the APC State Secretariat in Bauchi.
The distribution initiative is designed to span all 20 local government areas, 323 wards, and various polling units across the state.
Each of the 10 trailers contains 600 bags of fertilizer, which are being shared among party leaders, local government and ward chairmen, and low-level party farmers.
Speaking during the event, Abubakar explained that the intervention was vital because over 70 percent of Bauchi State’s population relies heavily on farming as their primary livelihood.
The agricultural input was jointly provided by the Tinubu/Shettima and M.A/Farouk campaign organizations.
Abubakar expressed optimism that the distribution process would remain transparent and successfully reach all intended beneficiaries.
He further prayed for abundant rainfall and a highly successful, high-yield harvest season for the state’s farmers.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, attended the ceremony and strongly urged those managing the logistics to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the exercise.
Dogara also commended Abubakar for his continuous commitment to securing crucial agricultural support for party loyalists.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, Sani Bala, the APC Chairman for Shira/Katagum local government area, thanked the governorship candidate and national party leaders for the timely intervention.
Bala also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, for their continuous efforts in bringing developmental opportunities and critical support to the people of Bauchi State.
