A prominent political ally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged stakeholders to stop politicising national security, warning that partisan distractions sabotage the fight against violent crime.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Khamis Musa Darazo declared that tackling terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping requires absolute national unity rather than political point-scoring.

Darazo highlighted several security milestones achieved under President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” noting that offensive operations are yielding measurable results.

Key achievements of President Bola Tinubu according to him, include increased offensives against active criminal syndicates, successful rescue of numerous kidnap victims, massive recovery of illegal arms and ammunition and restored public confidence boosting local trade and farming.

“The fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violent crime demands unity of purpose and unwavering commitment from all Nigerians”.

“Under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, security operations have continued to record significant progress, with increased offensives against criminal elements, the rescue of kidnapped victims, the recovery of arms and ammunition, and improved security in many parts of the country” he stated.

The chieftain strongly defended the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, praising his professionalism and patriotism.

He called on critics to offer cooperation instead of distractions, saying “”National security should never be reduced to partisan politics.General Christopher Gwabin Musa and our brave security personnel deserve encouragement, cooperation, and national support.”

Darazo concluded by urging political actors to exercise restraint in their public commentary.

He also appealed to citizens to actively assist the military by providing timely, credible intelligence to help secure lasting peace.
