The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, has vowed to make a difference if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.
Ogazi said he would not be a “rubber-stamp or bench warmer” but would serve as the voice of the masses through pragmatic legislation that will add value to his constituents, strengthen institutions, and attract more development to Nasarawa State and the country at large.
He stated this in Keffi on Tuesday during an empowerment programme for 550 women beneficiaries across the 10 electoral wards of Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The House of Representatives candidate, who is currently serving his third term in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, said the empowerment scheme began in his country home of Kokona LGA with 600 beneficiaries. He added that a similar programme for about 600 beneficiaries in Karu LGA would be rolled out in the coming weeks.
According to him, the empowerment of women was aimed at enabling them to start or expand their small-scale businesses.
“We are disbursing ₦20,000 stipends to these women from a humanitarian point of view in order to thank them for their massive votes during the last primary election, where they voted for me overwhelmingly,” he said.
Responding to questions from journalists on the kind of difference he intends to make, Hon. Ogazi said, “I will continue to be Daniel. Not the Daniel in the den of lions, but a replica who will be the voice of the people. A Daniel that will not continue to say ‘Yes Sir, Yes Sir’ to power, but a Daniel that will ensure we bring development to our constituency.
“I am praying to God to take me to the National Assembly. Those who have been there have tried, but I am going to make a difference in legislation the kind of legislation the people have not seen. Legislation of laws and policies that have direct bearing on the people. I shall always be accessible to my constituents, listen to them and provide the needed solutions to their needs,” Hon. Ogazi added.
He commended Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu for his commitment to developmental programmes and for sparing time to attend the empowerment programme.
According to him, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the APC governorship candidate, is the right choice for Nasarawa State. He added that if elected as governor, Senator Wadada would ensure the empowerment of citizens and attract more investment and investors to the state.
The event had in attendance women leaders, party stakeholders, and beneficiaries from across Keffi LGA.
