Nasarawa Assembly candidate pledges quality representation, constituency development

Bishop Ezekiel Musa, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Obi II State Constituency seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has pledged to provide quality representation and accelerate development if elected.

Musa made the pledge while speaking with journalists on Tuesday in Lafia.

He said his decision to contest the election was driven by what he described as years of inadequate representation and the slow pace of development in the constituency.

According to him, residents of Obi II continue to grapple with poor road infrastructure, inadequate access to potable water and the absence of quality healthcare facilities.

“My desire to serve is informed by the need to change the development narrative of my constituency.

“I have lived in Rivers State, Lagos and Abuja and have also travelled outside the country. I have seen how leaders transform their communities.

“Whenever I return home, I feel saddened because I do not see similar development in Obi II,” he said.

Musa, who is also a cleric and founder of a humanitarian organisation, said he was entering politics to serve the people rather than for personal gain.

“I am not coming to deceive the people or enrich myself. I am coming with a different blueprint to bring meaningful development to my constituency.

“We lack good roads, a general hospital, potable water and other basic infrastructure. These are the areas I intend to prioritise,” he said.

The NDC candidate also promised to initiate a scholarship scheme for indigent students to improve access to education.

He added that he had already demonstrated his commitment to community service through his humanitarian activities, including the rehabilitation of a borehole in Atabla community.

Musa reiterated his commitment to addressing the challenge of inadequate access to potable water and improving the welfare of residents of Obi II constituency if elected. (NAN)
