Nasarawa Guber Aspirant Withdraws, Declares for Senate.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a prominent contender for the Nasarawa State governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba, has officially withdrawn from the race, instead seek a seat at the National Assemble.

He made the announcement in Lafia the state capital, after an extensive consultations with stakeholders, citing party unity and the corporate interest of the state over personal ambition.

Hon. Nalaraba, emphasized that the withdrawal was not a sign of weakness but an act of political maturity, a
move that consolidates the party’s internal structure, who officially endorsed Senator Ahmed Ali Wadada as the preferred successor to the incumbent Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule.

“I align myself totally with the decision of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule who endorsed Distinguished Senator Ahmed Ali Wadada as his preferred candidate, for the unity and stability of the APC above my personal ambition.”

He pledged to deploy his entire political machinery spanning 147 wards and 13 Local Government Areas to ensure Wadada’s victory in both the primaries and the general election.

While stepping back from the Government House race, Hon. Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba, officially declared a bid to represent Nasarawa South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

He said the declaration comes after carefully listening to the voices of the people and responding to a collective call to serve at a higher legislative level.

Hon. Nalaraba, highlighted some of his track record of grassroots impact, which include, Scholarship disbursements for indigent students, Palliative distribution to vulnerable communities, and Empowerment programs for youth and widows.

He further appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule, for his tolerance, commitment to peaceful coexistence, and inclusiveness.
