2027: Ex-APC legal adviser joins Nasarawa South Senatorial Race

The former legal adviser to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Mr Usman Elegu, has joined the Nasarawa South Senatorial election race.

He promised to execute people-oriented projects if given the mandate.

Elegu stated this while speaking with newsmen shortly after notifying officials of the party of his intention at the party’s secretariat in Lafia.

He said that his intention to run for the Nasarawa South Senatorial race was borne out of concern for qualitative representation.

He noted that he has the requisite experience and capacity to represent the people of the zone, if given the mandate.

“My decision to come into this race is to redefine representation in the zone. I will embark on humanitarian and people-oriented projects.

“Our motto is ‘Change the Narrative of Politics, and looking at what we have today, once we are allowed to serve, we’ll change the narrative of politics as it exists today,” he said.

Elegu said that his political pedigree and leadership surpassed his fellow aspirants, noting that his track record, service to the people and the party were visible and verifiable.

“I am in the race to win, my opponents you mentioned, came and met us at this party. Politics is not all about big names.

“We laid the foundation of this political party. and I was into politics before all of them, and you should know that I know the terrain

”I’m not new to the party, both at the state and national level, local government and ward level. And none of these persons you mentioned has such experience.

He applauded the party leadership in the state for promising a level playing field for all aspirants to participate in the primary elections.

Elegu commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for promising free, fair, transparent and credible elections. (NAN)
