By Amina Mohammed Lafia.

A prominent aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, has formally stepped back from the current gubernatorial race, calling on his supporters to embrace the divine decree and rally behind the incumbent administration.

He made the announcement, during a world press conference held in Lafia the state capital.

Addressing a crowd of supporters and party faithful, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, acknowledged the emotional weight of the decision, noting that the gap between the vision and where he now stand is felt sharply.

He however, pivoted quickly to a message of Islamic tawakkul (reliance on God), urging his followers to accept the outcome with grace.

“Allah, in His infinite wisdom, gives leadership to whom He wills, and at the time He wills, If our tawakkul is genuine, we must allow Him to take charge of this matter.”

Dr. Faisal Shuaib who is the former Executive Secretary of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency NAPHDA, emphasized the duty to support those in authority rather than tearing them down in bitterness, a statement seen by many analysts as a strategic move to preserve party cohesion ahead of future challenges.

He further aligned with the incumbent, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, praising his stewardship of the APC and the transformation he is engineering in the state.

While he is stepping down from the immediate race, he made it clear that his political journey is far from over.

Declaring that his commitment to the state only takes a different shape, he promised to remain available for quiet labour in the building of a stronger Nasarawa and a greater Nigeria.
