Angwan Rukuba Attack: APC Chairman Yilwatda Condemns Killings, Sends Condolences to Victims’ Families

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has strongly condemned the recent attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba Community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing it as “tragic, senseless, and unacceptable.”

In a condolence statement issued on Monday, Yilwatda decried the barbaric act of violence that claimed several lives and left many others injured, noting that the incident has plunged families and the entire community into deep mourning.

Reports indicate that the attack led to the imposition of a 48-hour curfew in Jos North, as security agencies work to restore calm. Police authorities also confirmed multiple deaths and injuries following the incident.

The APC Chairman expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, acknowledging the depth of pain and trauma caused by the attack.

“No words can truly heal the grief and trauma that such a wicked act has caused, but I pray that God grants the bereaved families the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he said, while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

Yilwatda also extended his solidarity to residents of Angwan Rukuba, the people of Jos North, and the Plateau State Government, assuring them of his prayers and support during this difficult period.

He further reassured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity, stating that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains resolute in confronting banditry, terrorism, and other forms of criminality across the country.

According to him, security agencies are being strengthened, with necessary measures in place to restore peace, protect lives, and ensure that perpetrators of such heinous acts are brought to justice.

The APC Chairman called on Nigerians to remain united, vigilant, and prayerful, while urging collective efforts toward restoring lasting peace and harmony in Plateau State and the country at large.
