Sule Urges Unity, Inclusive Political Participation in Nasarawa

Governor Abdullahi Sule has called on leaders of thought and key stakeholders in Nasarawa State to remain steadfast in promoting unity and collective political participation across all parts of the state in the interest of equity and fairness.

The governor made the call while hosting critical stakeholders from the Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone to a Ramadan Iftar dinner at his residence in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Governor Sule commended the stakeholders for their continued support towards ensuring the success of his administration in delivering on the mandate given to it by the people.

He noted that the patience and resilience demonstrated by the people of the state had continued to inspire his administration to execute impactful projects and implement people-oriented policies, including improved payment of retirees’ entitlements.

The governor urged the stakeholders to serve as vanguards of inclusive political participation and decision-making across all parts of the state in order to deepen democracy and enhance development.

Governor Sule further stated that as his administration gradually winds down, he remains committed to the zoning principle of the All Progressives Congress in the selection of his successor.

He stressed that as a major beneficiary of the arrangement from a minority zone, he would not support any move that seeks to jettison the principle.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, former Secretary to the State Government Ambassador Suleiman Azores applauded the governor for remaining faithful to the people’s mandate through good governance anchored on infrastructure development, human capital development and improved security.

Ambassador Azores added that Governor Sule’s leadership style rooted in humility, consultation and people-oriented governance, is worthy of emulation for sustained growth and development in Nasarawa State.

Dignitaries at the Ramadan Iftar included the Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe, Ambassador-designate to Argentina Mohammed Ubandona, former commissioners, heads of agencies from Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone, as well as selected journalists led by the state NUJ Chairman Salihu Alkali.(Radio Nigeria)
