The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called the residents of Nasarawa State who have turned 18 years or have issues with the relocation of voting centres among others to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
Hajiya Safiya Garba Head of Department (HOD) Voters Education and Publicity of the commission in the state made the call during a sensitisation exercise in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
She emphasised that the CVR was aimed at ensuring that every eligible resident is registered ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission has set up registration centres across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas of the state as well as its headquarters in Lafia to facilitate the process and ensure that every interested Nigerian that is quality is registered.

She explained that the commission has engaged with traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, market associations, and transport unions to mobilise their people for the ongoing exercise.
“INEC is committed to ensuring a credible and transparent electoral process, and this starts with getting registered.
“The commission has put measures in place to ensure a smooth registration process, including multiple registration centres and mobilisation efforts.
“The CVR exercise is an important step towards building a more inclusive and participatory democracy in Nigeria,” she added.
The HOD urged residents to take advantage of this opportunity to register and exercise their civic duty and urged stakeholders to support the CVR exercise.
She therefore said that Nigerians can shape the future of the country and have their voices heard in the electoral process by participating in the CVR. (NAN).
