Sen. Adamu applauds Ex-NASENI’s EVC passion for community development

Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Former All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman has applauded Prof. Mohammed Haruna for his passion and commitment for community development.

Professor Mohammed Haruna is a former Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and Chief Executive Officer of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

Adamu gave the applause in Keffi on Wednesday at the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of perimeter fence of Abdu-Zanga Primary School Keffi sponsored by Prof. Mohammed Haruna.

In his speech, Adamu represented by Hon. Abdulmumin Ari, Member, House of Representatives (APC/Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency) applauded Haruna’s developmental strides which he described as impactful and life changing in the various communities the former NASENI EVC has carried out projects.

He said several interventions carried out by Haruna has proven him to be a man committed to community development and upliftment of the poor in Keffi environs and the state at large.

“Prof Haruna has impacted the lives of many in Keffi and across the state in diverse ways. This perimeter fencing of this school is a testament of his devotion and passion for community development.

“This is the kind of leadership we are advocating for not just in Nasarawa state but the country at large,” he said.

He said aside the perimeter fencing, Haruna had contributed textbooks and books to tertiary institutions across the state, donation of science and engineering laboratory equipment and solar among others.

He then charged other well meaning citizens of the state to take up the challenge and carry out projects and interventions that will have immediate positive impact in the lives of the people of the state.

On her part, Hajiya Fatima Aliyu, Education Secretary, Keffi local government area also commended the sponsor for focusing on the education sector and carrying out the project aimed securing the school property and ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere for students in the school.

In his speech, Haruna while welcoming all to the occasion called on well meaning individuals to prioritize development in their localities and beyond. 

He credited the Nasarawa state Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule’s impactful leadership across the state as the motivation for his community development efforts.

“Whatever I am doing here and there for community are emulation and attempts to learn from him and identification and support his agenda, projects and programmes for a better Nasarawa state.

“Construction of Abdu Zanga primary school perimeter fence is therefore a dedication to him,” he added.

Haruna explained that he also decided to carry out the project to curtail encroachment that has diminished the size of the school and in honour of the late Emir of Keffi, Abdu Zanga and his royal lineage and offsprings. (NAN).
