Governor Mohammed Swears In New Commissioner, Makes Key Appointments in Cabinet Reshuffle

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Tuesday, swore in a new commissioner and several key appointees as part of a strategic cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across the state.

At the ceremony held in the Government House, Bauchi, the governor inaugurated Hajiya Hadiza Abdulkadir Kango as the new Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration, replacing Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsammani, who has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Women Affairs. The adjustment follows the removal of Hajiya Zainab Babantakko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.

Other appointees sworn in include Jummai Salamatu Abubakar as Chairperson of the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission, Iliya Isah as Executive Chairman of Dambam Local Government, Babaji Idris Shehu as Auditor General for Local Governments, and Abubakar Usman Misau as Permanent Commissioner in the State Independent Electoral Commission.

Governor Bala Mohammed urged the new officials to discharge their duties with transparency, accountability, and a strong commitment to the administration’s development agenda. He stressed the importance of teamwork and dedication in advancing the welfare of the people and sustaining the gains of democratic governance in the state.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Abubakar Usman Misau thanked the governor for the trust reposed in them and pledged their collective commitment to justify the confidence of the administration and the people of Bauchi State.
