The Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial district, Senator Shehu Buba Umar in Bauchi State has distributed 21, 000 bags of Semovita to members of his Constituency and the 20 local Government areas of Bauchi State to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship in the country.
This gesture is coming after the senator doled out N10,000 cash and a bag of Semovita to 1,000 Women in Federal Low-cost Jummaat Mosque.
Senator Buba while distributing the food items to the people of 20 LGAs in Bauchi State, said that the hard times being faced by Nigerians will soon be over following the achievements being recorded by the federal government to improve the economy.
He said that the current economic hardship is being tackled using different strategies including the distribution of palliatives, which he has done many times not only to the people of his constituency but to the entire people of the State.
“The federal government has to a large extent been able to stabilize the exchange rate of the national currency against others,thereby improving imports and exports”. he said
According to him, very soon Senator representing the Bauchi North Senatorial District Sama’ila Dahuwa will soon join the All Progressives Congress APC following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP even as he called on the remaining Senator representing Bauchi Central Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi to dump the PDP and join the APC so that they can team up and move the State and the country forward.
Senator Buba appreciated the peaceful conduct of members of his constituency which he noted assisted the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state in delivering dividends of democracy to them.
He solicited for the continued cooperation of the people with the government at all levels stressing that without peace there cannot be any meaningful development.
The State Organising Secretary of the APC who is the chairman of the distribution committee Alhaji Abdulkadir Gyangyan commended Senator Buba for always reaching out to his constituents saying ” You have reduced hunger among our people”.
Abdulkadir said that the committee plans to distribute the bags of Semovita to the seven local Government areas of Bauchi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro, Toro, Alkaleri and Kirfi Local government areas where the Senator represents while the remaining 13 local Government areas each will receive 500 bags and the remaining will be distributed to Party officials in the Zonal and State offices, Political organisations and some individuals and Associations.
An APC stalwart.Alhaji Aminu Muhammad Danmalikin Bauchi told constituents to pray for the success of Senator Shehu Buba to enable him succeed as he is the only Senator that is doing his best to support his constituents in all aspects of life.
He said that the Senator sponsored 500 students to study physical and environmental sciences in Malikiyya college,adding that he also sponsored many to study within and outside the country.
An Islamic cleric who witnessed the distribution, Dr Usman Giade urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the commodity and pray to Allah to reward the Senator for the gesture.
Many beneficiaries thanked the Senator for coming to their aid through his numerous assistance .
They said that the food items will go a long way in alleviating their hardship and called on other Political office holders to emulate Senator Shehu Buba humanitarian gesture.
