“… calls on Gov. Sule to give them more financial support…”

Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Education, has commended the management of Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute, Lafia for good performance in the second quarter of the 2025 budget.
Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman of the Committee gave the commendation when the management of the institute appeared before the committee on its Second Quarter 2025 budget performance today in Lafia.
Hon. Abel, who represents Nassarawa Eggon West Constituency said that the committee was happy with the performance of the institute and called on the management to sustain it.
“As you are aware that the House approved the budget and the constitution has empowered us to check your expenditure, hence the need of this exercise” he said.
“Your performance for the second quarter is excellent.The Executive Director and his management team are doing well and I urge you to keep it up” he said.
According to him, the training you are giving to the youth is commendable as it is tackling youth restiveness in the state by keeping the youth off the street.
The lawmaker assured them of the committee’s support to succeed.
Hon Abel also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his efforts and support to the institute to succeed via training of youths in different skills in the state.
The committee appealed to Gov. Abdullahi Sule to give more financial support to the institute to succeed.
” I want to appeal to His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule to give the institute more support to enable them succeed,” he said.
Earlier, Dr Daniel Ewuga Asele, the Executive Director of the Institute appreciated the committee for the support the institute is enjoying from them.
Asele restated the commitment of the institute to continue to train the youths in different skills acquisition programmes to be self reliant.
The Executive Director, however, identified delay in approvals and inadequate overhead as some of the challenges affecting the institute.
“Our challenges is delay in approvals and overhead cost cannot even take care of diesel and other running costs” he said.
In a related development, the management of College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia appeared before the committee on its 2025 second quarter budget performance.
Dr Musa Yahaya Maikaffi, the Rector of the College, appreciated the committee for being up and doing in ensuring the development of the institution.
Responding, Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman of the Committee commended the management of the College for good revenue and other performances.
He said that the committee was happy with the management of the college for their excellent work in the institution.
“I want to appreciate the Rector and the management of the college, you are doing well and I urge you to sustain the good work you are doing
” I want to assure you of our continued support and synergy to succeed,” he said.
