A coalition of concerned people of Bauchi State has endorsed the Senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial district Halliru Dauda Jika to contest the governorship position in 2027.
They pledged to continue advocating and mobilising support for his 2027 gubernatorial election bid.
The group declared their support for Jika during a one-day sensitization and Advocacy meeting held in Darazo Town.
The meeting, which brought together politicians, youths and women, was aimed at sensitizing the people on the importance of supporting Senator Jika’s aspiration.
The State Chairman of the coalition, Hon Ahmad Yero, explained that the meeting was designed to educate the people of Bauchi Central Zone on their roles in Dokaji’s Movement.
Hon Ahmad Yero highlighted on Senator Jika’s impressive track record to include his service as Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Member representing Gamjuwa/Darazo Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, and Senator representing Bauchi Central Zone at the Senate Assembly.
He said that Halliru Jika served as Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, demonstrating his capacity for leadership, adding that if given the chance to become the next governor of the state, he will deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
The coalition chairman said that that Senator Jika has decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), calling on the citizens of Bauchi Central Zone to rally behind him in his bid for the governorship under the ADC platform.
Ahmad Yero expressed confidence that Senator Jika’s leadership skills and experience would be of great advantage to the state if given the opportunity to become the next governor of the state.
Speaking on behalf of Bauchi Central Zone, LGAs Coordinators Muhammad Shatima Abubakar, pledged his commitment to support Senator Jika aspiration.
He stated that the coalition and Senator Halliru Dauda Jika is committed to reshaping the future of Bauchi State, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education, agriculture, and job opportunities.
Abubakar noted that Senator Jika’s vision for the state aligns with the coalition’s goals, adding that his leadership would bring about positive change.
He urged the people of Bauchi Central Zone to join hands with the coalition in supporting Senator Jika’s gubernatorial bid, stressing that the group’s mobilization efforts will play a crucial role in drumming up support for the senator’s aspiration.
