Ex-federal Lawmaker donates 55m Worth Block Of Classrooms To Community In Nasarawa

Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, former House of representative, representing Lafia/Obi Federal constituency in 2011-2015 has built and donated fifty five millions (55m), worth block of classrooms to Biyade community as part of his contribution to development of education in Nasarawa State .

The three classrooms which include staff office was built and installed with 24 power solar light to encourage learning.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held in Biyade community in Lafia local government area of the state Dr. Haruna Kigbu, said he decided to invest in an education because is the bedrock of any society and human development.

He noted that, if politicians would give it back to society like this, even without government, community efforts and support of an individuals would bring a needed development to society and it would go a long way in developing a modern society.

According to Kigbu,” I urged every politicians that is here to continuesly save while in office, save while you are out of office. This is the only way we can build our society. Some politicians embark on project while in office, to them, they have perform, they have not performed . If the were not government fund would they performs?

“We want to see the efforts they have made after office. What have you done for your people when you are nobody, this is how we will know your commitment .

” If you are thinking of only gaining from your community then you have no moral justification to even seeks for their mandate.

He challenged all wealth-meaning individuals and politicians to performs while their not in office.

Dr. Kigbu, challenged all gubernatorial candidates who have declared to run for governor seat in Nasarawa State to show people their projects before seeking for mandate come 2027.

Dr. Haruna Kigbu also used the gathering to declares his intention to contest for governor seat come 2027.

Also speaking at the occasion, Abdullahi Sule the governor of Nasarawa State who was a gest speaker acknowledged the efforts of the Dr. Haruna Kigbu for contributing to the development of education in the state.

The governor who was represented by Permanent Secretary ministry of education Mr Mohammed Sani Bala, informed that the gesture was not common to ignore considering his important for development of humanity in the society.

He said that the gesture came at a time when most of the government’s infrastructures are in dilapidated condition as a result of windstorm
