National Chairman Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law Initiative in Nigeria Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim

A Civil Society Organization, Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law, has launched a large-scale sensitization campaign aimed at mobilizing over five million eligible young voters across the 19 northern states of Nigeria.

The initiative is designed to boost youth participation in the electoral process and strengthen democratic governance.

Speaking during a meeting with a cross-section of youths in Jos, Plateau State, the National Chairman of the organization, Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim, emphasized the critical role of active citizen engagement in electing credible leaders.

“Accountability, good governance, and the rule of law can only prevail when citizens, especially the youth, take responsibility and participate fully in the political process,” Ibrahim said.

He further called on young Nigerians to promote peace and continue building trust in democratic institutions as a foundation for sustainable development.

“Youth must embrace peace and renew their confidence in leadership if we are to move the nation forward,” he added.

The Plateau State Coordinator of the organization, Mr. Salahudin Ibrahim, also addressed participants, highlighting the growing insecurity in parts of the country and the urgent need for collective action.

“Let us build the youths; let all, irrespective of religion, come together to promote peace. Without peace, there cannot be development,” Salahudin stated.

In their goodwill messages, the group’s women and youth leaders, Miss Blessing Adara and Mr. David Phillip, echoed the call for attitudinal change and community-based efforts to restore peace.

Miss Adara shared a personal account to emphasize the urgency:

“My state, Plateau, has been tagged a crisis zone. Recently, my family house was attacked and burned down. We were badly affected, many people around us were affected. All we want is peace. We want the world to hear us and bring peace to our country.”

The meeting also featured the formal inauguration of the Plateau State Secretariat of the organization and the unveiling of coordinators for all 17 local government areas in the state. (Radio Nigeria)
