PLASU Governing Council Identifies Key Areas of ICT, Linkages for System Revamp

The 6th Governing Council of Plateau State University, Bokkos, has pinpointed crucial areas of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and linkages to drive the institution toward achieving its core mandate of research, teaching, and community engagement.

Professor William Barnabas Qurix, Chairman of the 6th Council, revealed this in an interview following the council’s maiden meeting in Bokkos. He emphasized that the university is poised for transformation through the strategic deployment of ICT, transnational education partnerships, and linkages to entrepreneurship.

“This transformation will propel Plateau State University to new heights of development,” Professor Qurix asserted.

As part of their fact-finding mission, council members embarked on a tour of the university’s facilities, visiting the Senate Chamber, student hostels, and the Faculties of Agricultural Sciences and Environmental Sciences. The tour was led by Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best.

Professor Qurix acknowledged the university’s achievements and pledged to build upon them. “Our visit aimed to familiarize council members with the university’s layout. We’ve identified structures requiring urgent attention, but overall, the university boasts impressive infrastructure compared to other Nigerian institutions.”

The 6th Governing Council, inaugurated on February 4, 2025, by Plateau State Governor Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, is committed to guiding the university according to its founding vision and aspirations.
