
Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia on Saturday suffered their first defeat in match day three of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season in their home ground by the visiting El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri.
El-Kanemi Warriors defeated Nasarawa Utd. 4:3 at the Lafia Township Stadium and took the whole three points of the game.
Nasarawa Utd who just returned to the league from relegation, have two points in three matches.
Nasarawa team played draw in their first two matches against Shooting Stars of Ibadan FC in Lafia and Niger Tornadoes FC in an away match.
In a post-match interview, Kabir Dogo, Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United, said that the a team can win anywhere in a football game.
Dogo pointed out that they know their players better now and promised to re-strategies for the games ahead.
On his part, Aliyu Zuberu, Coach of El-Kanemi Warriors said he was happy with the three away points.
Zuberu added that the team would take every match seriously to enable them win the league at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, visiting Rivers United FC had also defeated Lobi Stars of Makurdi 1:0.
The match was played at the Lafia Township Stadium, the adopted home ground of the Makurdi team. (NAN).
