PLASIEC Assurance of Free, Fair Elections Boosted my Aspiration- Councillorship Candidate

The Councillorship Candidates for Ungwan Rogo/Angwan Rimi/Sabon Layi Ward in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State under the umbrella of People’s Redemption Party, PRP, Hon. Jamilu Mazadu has said the assurance given by the Chairman of the State Electoral Commission, Mr. Plangji Cishak of conducting an election that will reflect the will of the people inspired him to contest to serve his people.

Hon. Mazadu stated this while interacting with journalists in Jos on his aspiration and the choice of PRP to actualize his vision.

He said the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, PLASIEC Chairman, has reiterated the Commission’s stand to conduct a free, fair and credible election and that going by the assurance, he is confident of winning the election and will be announce winner at the end.

Hon. Mazadu said among other things that prompted him to vie for the position was the fact that public hospitals in Angwan Rogo and Angwan Rimi are lacking in terms of manpower and even the infrastructure to some extent are dilapidated.

“So if I become the Councillor, I will make sure I follow up and ensure that they are giving all that they are entitled to.

He also assured that being someone who was affected by the act of insecurity within the community, he will support both local and conventional security agencies to curtail the activities of criminals in the ward.

“My elder brother, late Sani Mohammed Mazadu who was a lecturer before his untimely dead as a result of ungodly activities of Sara-Suka boys, (a local cult group). I always think of it and said if I happen to be in position I will make sure I assist the security agencies especially the neighborhood watch to address the insecurity bedeviling the ward.”

Hon. Mazadu being a Journalist working with Unity Fm Jos, said he will use his experience and connection to bring about the needed dividends of democracy to his people if elected.

“I will also do my best to ensure that I empower women in my area to be capable of taking care of their children to better their future.” He added.

On the choice of PRP as a platform, Hon. Mazadu said the party is the most popular party in the area and a party that is without issue and has created an enabling environment for people to actualize their aspiration without favouritism.

He called on the people of Angwan Rogo/Angwan Rimi/Sabon Layi Ward to entrust him with their mandates come 9th October, 2024, assuring them that they will not regret their decision.

He solicited for prayers and votes of the electorates, noting that he will not disappoint them if he emerge winner at the polls.
