Eid-el-Kabir: Nasarawa State Information Commissioner tasks citizens on peaceful coexistence

has urged the people of the state to promote peaceful coexistence among different ethnic groups in the state.

Angbolo stated this while speaking with newsmen on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the significance of Eid-el-Kabir cannot be overemphasized, noting that it signifies God’s love, sacrifice, and obedience as demonstrated by God and Prophet Ibrahim.

“And just when Prophet Ibrahim wanted to offer his son as a sacrifice instead God provided a ram for him and since then Muslim faithful have been celebrating sallah in his memory.

“It is a day we all come out in a joyful mood to appreciate Allah, it is a day that we should all come together as brothers, neighbours and as citizens of Nasarawa state to celebrate in peace, love, and unity,” he said.

Angbolo, therefore called on all citizens of Nasarawa state to support the administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to move the state forward.

“We should shun tribalism, nepotism, and social vices, we should shun whatever that will tear us apart, instead we should embrace what will unite us as citizens of Nasarawa state,” he emphasized.

Also speaking, Prince Aliyu Abdullahi Idde, Ciroman Eggon, and former Accountant General Nasarawa state, noted that prayers were offered for peaceful coexistence in the state and by extension Nigeria.

He described Eid-el-Kabir as very significant in the life of the Muslim faithful, noting that it was one of the days that was celebrated by Prophet Mohammed during his lifetime on earth.
