
General Officer Commanding the 3rd Division and Commander Operations Safe Heaven, Major General A. E Abubakar has said that the division is employing proactive measures towards preventing students abduction from tertiary institutions.
In a statement by the Protocol and Information Officer to the Vice Chancellor, Karl Kumm University, KKU Vom, Bulus Gambo, the GOC gave the assurance when he hosted the Vice Chancellor, KKU, Vom, Prof Nanven Audu Gambo in his office at Rukuba Barracks, Jos.
According to the statement, Major General Abubakar disclosed areas of possible engagements with Vice Chancellors and Heads of tertiary institutions as well as conducting complex comprehensive security assessments to help avert any such act in the state.
He explained that on receipt of a security alert a few days ago on plans by terrorists to kidnap tertiary institution students, the division had to re-strategize towards ensuring that an uninterrupted environment is created to enhance students learning.

General Abubakar also reemphasized that security sustainability is a collaborative responsibility of all communities, stakeholders and the security personnel who are ever ready to be at their best when informed of any negative development on time.
He commended the Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University and his management team for creating a character of learning component expected to produce self-reliant graduates for national development.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University, Vom, Prof. Nanven Audu Gambo had informed Major General Abubakar and his top military officers that they were in the Division to solicit for synergy towards creating an enabling environment of learning for the students of the University.
He noted that since the university started operation in 2023, the management has continue to employ character components of learning to add to government’s lucrative policy framework of facilitating national integration and development of the country.

He used the opportunity to condole top hierarchy of the Nigerian Army and the GOC 3rd Division over the killing of 16 patriotic military personnel in a community in Delta state and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased military officers.
Prof Gambo thanked Major General Abubakar for granting the Karl Kumm University management team audience in the midst of his busy schedules to synergize towards enhancing the security network of the institution.
Prof Gambo was accompanied by the University Registrar, Benjamin Dachomo, Bursar Promise Sokyes, University Librarian, Dr. Lidiya Lakan and the institution’s Chief Security Officer, Col. Wuyep Titus Famwang (Rtd).
