NPC partners Nasarawa Govt. to train newly employed staff

The National Productivity Centre (NPC) has partnered the Nasarawa State Government on the training of the recently employed staff to ensure optimal performance.

Mrs Imosun Mojisola, Nasarawa State Coordinator of NPC stated this at the three-day training for the newly employed staff of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technology on Wednesday in Lafia.

The NPC coordinator said that the training was aimed at making the staff productivity champions and Ambassadors that would drive productivity in their ministry for better service delivery.

She further explained that NPC as a Federal Government parastatal, was established by act (CAP) 70 of the laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004.

The Coordinator further said that they were charged with the mandate of accelerating socio-econpmic growth and development through productivity improvement in all sector of the economy.

Mrs Mojisola added that the centre fully engaged in productivity promotion and advocacy, Research and Survey, productivity measurement and capacity building among others.

She said that the centre would help them in help them within the period of the training on how to add value to thier organisational objectives and improve their performance.

“We all introduce them to the use of productivity tools and techniques in their offices for enhance service delivery,” she added.

The Nasarawa State coordinator of NPC said that the ministry and the participants would be happy that they engaged them and had participated in their training.

On his part, Mr Samuel Emgba, Commissioner for Science, Innovation and Technology lauded NPC for the partnership to train staff of his ministry.

The Commissioner explained that the training was in line with the principle of Gov. Abdullahi Sule-led administration to develop human capital through training and re-training of civil servants.

He added that science and technology is the driving force of development in any nation today as such Nasarawa State cannot be left behind.

“That is why we have decided to equip our staff with the requisite knowledge for optimal performance,” he added.

He therefore, advised them to take other parts of the training in the next three days seriously to justify the investment on their future in the civil service.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Bawa Timothy expressed gratitude to the governor for given them the opportunity to serve the state.

He also thanked the commissioner for improving their capacities and promised that they would do thier jobs better after the three days intensive training exercise. (NAN).
