
Plateau State Government has assured the media of collaboration for effective dissemination of health related informations for the wellbeing of the citizens.
State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Shurkuk Cletus Bako gave the assurance when he played host to members of Media Action for Health, Environment and Sustainable Development (MAHESD), in his office at the JD Gomwalk State Secretariat, Jos.
The Commissioner admitted that information is power hence, the citizens need to be giving adequate informations at an appropriate time to ensure sound and healthy living. He noted that the government is prioritizing the wellbeing of the citizens, as according to him, if the people are doing well health wise, the state will be well too.
“We will work together with you to ensure that the right information you need you get it from the right person and at the right time, and also ensure that the consumer of the information actually get what they want. You know we cannot do that alone, so there is need for us to collaborate”. He added.

The visit, according to leader of the delegation, Zainab Babaji was to among other things familiarize with the Commissioner and to inform him of what the organization is doing in the area of investigating and reporting health related information to citizens.
She informed him that MAHESD is a collection of like-minds Journalists reporting health, environment and the sustainable development activities for the wellbeing of the society.
MAHESD with membership from print and broadcast media as well as bloggers, is willing and committed to partnering with government and other organizations to under take health related programs and environmental issues in the state for the purpose of increase awareness for safety and better society.
