
The Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University Bokkos, Prof. Bernard Matur, has reaffirmed the University’s unwavering commitment to supporting the National Universities Commission (NUC) in its mission to advance tertiary education across Nigeria.
According to a press statement by his personal assistant, Rafan Dafang James, the VC made the commitment while playing host to NUC accreditation team on Monday at the University in Bokkos, Plateau State.
Prof. Mantur also assured them of adhering to the standard set out by the NUC to ensure quality education in tertiary institutions.
The statement noted that the Vice Chancellor expressed confidence in the vital role that the NUC’s accreditation exercises play in enhancing the quality of education in the country.
“We pledge our full cooperation, extending from the records section, the academic division, the financial department, the works and physical facilities, and any other area where information may be required.
“We are at your service, as we understand the significance of this visit. It is not meant to bring us down but to assist us in reaching new heights.” Prof. Matur added.

He said Plateau State University Bokkos remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining and advancing educational excellence in Nigeria, as demonstrated by its enthusiastic collaboration with the NUC’s accreditation efforts.
Leader of the NUC accreditation team, Prof. Obosco Bankole Nwakwo, explained the primary purpose of the accreditation process, emphasizing its focus on upholding the educational standards set by the NUC since 2015.
“Accreditation is fundamentally about quality, ensuring that universities adhere to the standards we have established since 2015.” He stated.
