Member, representing Kanke at the Plateau State House of Assembly Barrister Wallok Goma has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam(PKK) in the National Assembly.
Wallok who is the Deputy Majority Leader in the Plateau State House of Assembly made the declaration recently at the at his Federal Ward in Kurrum, Kanke LGA.
The aspirant who declared to run under the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, sought the support and blessings of his home ward before embarking on further journey for the same purpose in Kanke and Pankshin local government areas.
While sympathizing with the people of Kanam over the recent unprovoked attack by bandits on some communities, the lawmaker said the solution to ending the frequent attacks is not far fetched. According to him, bringing the security apparatus closer to the people such as a well equipped Community Police will help bring an end to the incessant attacks.
He said he had been advocating for Community Police, because he believed that if the security system is decentralize, it will be more effective in curbing the constant threat by the marauders.
“That apart, I am here today to inform the party officials and the people, this is democracy, you must canvass for support, you must tell the people why you want to represent them because they deserve to know, and that is what we are going to do in few days to come after informing them of my intention officially” said the aspirant.
The lawmaker who is a serving member, said he has gathered and still gathering legislative business experience which is serving the people through lawmaking and lobbying for projects and other dividends of democracy for their wellbeing, added that he needed a bigger platform to expend his service.
The honorable Member also visited Kanke and Pankshin LGAs to parley with key stakeholders on his political ambition.
While in Kanke local government which is his current constituency the party faithful said his antecedents and performance as their representative within the period of three years has cleared a way for him to a higher position which they promised to reward him with.
At Pankshin local government party Secretariat, the party officials assured the aspirant of a level playing ground and their continued support for him and other aspirants while trusting God to produce popular candidates for the masses in all the elective positions after the primaries.
Other stakeholders and the unprecedented crowd who were chanting the aspirant campaign slogan, also appealed to the party’s primary election delegates to shun money bag politicians and be fair to the masses by given them who they want. They prayed God to favour their aspirant to win the election.
The PKK representative hopeful, Barrister Wallok Goma, used the occasion to officially inform and interact with critical stakeholders like Wards Chairmen and Secretaries who represented other ward Exco’s, Council Chairmen of Kanke and Pankshin, Legislators of the two councils as well as the two local government APC Exco’s of his aspiration.
